DESCRIPTION:Are you comfortable on skates and interested in trying out Roller Derby? Our Intro to Derby course will teach you all the skills you need to start playing derby safely! Our coaches will teach you derby specific skills like derby stance\, edgework\, crab footwork\, and effective contact skills\, as well as advanced skating skills like hockey stops\, quick transitions\, and acceleration. \nWe recommend you are comfortable on skates going backwards and forwards\, and able to perform basic stops before doing this course – it is not recommended for total beginners. If you’re very new to skating and interested in Roller Derby we recommend starting with our Learn to Skate course. \nYou must also have your own gear (including a gumshield).
