‘Revolutions’ the documentary that follows the inaugural Irish Roller Derby team’s formation in 2011 and subsequent years is being released in Irish cinemas this week! Revolutions introduces the exciting, sometimes brutal, world of women’s roller derby when Irish roller derby was just getting started. Director Laura McGann followed a number of skaters and coaches over four years as they commit to this grueling sport and determine to meet the physical and mental challenges they encounter.
The film is being shown in the IFI in Dublin and Triskel ChristChurch in Cork, opening this week and we highly recommend that you go see it. You’ll definitely spot a lot of Dublin Roller Derby rolling around!
